Ingredients:
1 Beading Cord
1 Self-Stick Foam Letters & Numbers
2 suction cups
1 clothes pins
Directions:

An age old question that kids never stop asking is, "Are we there yet?"
One way to help children answer their own question is to put them in charge of counting down the miles left.
Here is how it is done:
1.Take two suction cups and put one on each rear window behind the passenger and driver.
2.Tie beading cord or string to each suction cup. (It is like you are making a mini clothesline.) Make sure that the line is low enough for the child to reach and does not obstruct the view for the driver.
3.Put number stickers on the cord in increments. Starting with how many miles you have to go (ex: 250) on the right. Then count down from there. (Ex: 225, 200, 175) The increments you use is up to you. Do you want to do this every 10 miles? 15 miles? 25?
4.Using a small clothespin, the children can move the move the clothespin onto how many miles are left.
5.The children can then physically see how many miles are left. This teaches them: counting backwards, time concepts, miles and patience!
